FAQs

How is Insight faster than Safari?

Under the hood we use WKWebView, the same as Safari. However, because we block most ads and trackers we're on average about 35% faster.

What about privacy?

Insight disables trackers by default with a much larger blocklist than Safari.

It uses server-side logic to suggest extensions as you browse. This does log information as you browse but it is never connected to personally identifying information.

You can also turn suggestions off entirely from settings so Insight does not make any calls to its servers at all.

What about desktop?

Many of our ad-blocking features are already possible on desktop browsers through open-source extensions like uBlock Origin. We have an early version of desktop extension for Chrome we're working on. Reach out to us if you're interested in being a tester.

How do you make money?

While we are still early, everything is free as we test out what works and what doesn't. Eventually, we expect to have a pro version of Insight that our users will be able to support us with.
